Midnight Weddings

Most people tend to get married late morning or early afternoon. Some people have evening weddings, which are also pretty nice. Something that a few people have considered, that is somewhat interesting, is getting married at midnight.

Midnight weddings can be nice if the circumstances come together in just the right way. For instance, having a midnight wedding means there probably won't be any children there. Your ceremony will probably be short and small, since many people, especially older people, won't want to come. If you live or happen to be in an area with great weather, getting married outside in the moonlight can add a touch of romance to the ceremony that you can't get inside during the day.

The cons are just as extensive. Many people aren't going to leave their homes for a wedding ceremony that late at night unless there's some kind of party involved. If they have to deal with kids or a babysitter, that may keep even more people away. Older relatives and friends probably won't come. And in many states, even if you wanted to have some kind of reception, they have to close at 2AM, so you wouldn't have a lot of time to do much partying.

Now, you could decide to do a few other things that might help the wedding go along. You could have the reception later in the day so that more people could come. Having a midnight ceremony would also mean you wouldn't have to go buy a fancy wedding dress, and you could probably get married in jeans and a t-shirt if that's your preference. You would still need witnesses, but you could treat it like you'd gone to Las Vegas and eloped. Or you could tie it in with another ceremony or celebration, such as New Years Eve and New Years Day, a literal version of "out with the old, in with the new".

You're probably not going to get a church wedding at midnight, so don't even try. Get a justice of the peace who won't mind performing late, and find a nice place where you can have your ceremony, even if you decide to throw a party at your own house. You'll easily know who your true friends are, and an intimate ceremony will cost you less money.

It's an option to think about, and something that will certainly be much different than the norm.

The Groom's Suit and the Wedding Theme

There are different kinds of suits which are suitable for different kinds of occasions. In fact, there are even different kinds of suits for the same occasion. Here are some hints on what a groom should wear on his wedding day, every suggestion being suitable for a different theme.

For instance, if you have decided to have a classic wedding, you should definitely go for the classic black or beige suit, which you can wear with a tie and even with a wide belt. Also, a tuxedo would be nice and classic. Whatever you choose, the tie-bow and the belt should have the same colour as the suit.

If you are having an urban wedding, you have to choose your suit very carefully. Forget about the one you wear every day at the office and buy a more sophisticated one. You can also wear a vest and cheer your outfit up, but you can also choose a tie in the same colour as the shirt. The effect will certainly be a very interesting one.

If you prefer a more original wedding, you can choose to go with the traditions of a certain country other than yours and dress like the grooms there dress. You could go for the kilt or for a traditional costume - it all depends on the country you choose to represent, so to speak. If you are interested in a medieval wedding, you might want to go shopping for some medieval costumes.

The most important thing you have to choose is the theme of your wedding and then, you can decide on the groom's suit that represents that occasion best. Be original and dress up properly for the "I do" part.

Homecoming Hairstyles: The Updo or Don't!

Many teenage girls will find themselves in the midst of a trauma when asked or nominated for the homecoming court. Next to prom, this is one of the most memorable occasions in a teen girl's life. Much planning should go into the thoughts regarding homecoming hairstyles. After all, all eyes will be on you for those few moments, and as you grow older you will have the pictures as even greater reminders of years past.

Throughout the past several years, girls tend to look for homecoming hairstyles that are traditional and that offer them a sophisticated look. The most popular of these homecoming hairstyles is the "up-do". Many stylists may offer their advice regarding your hair type and facial structure. Stylist's may opt to braid, curl, tie, knot, or pin the hair in place. Variations of the up-do may incorporate hairpieces and hair accessories. Some girl's may like to wear rhinestones and jewels to add glimmer and shine under the lights. Other girls may find themselves opting for up-dos that have sweeping and flowing locks. If you're saying to yourself that your hair is too short for an up-do, never fear; hair extensions and hair pieces offer even the shortest of trends this up-do option.

One important factor to consider when contemplating the up-do is your facial structure. If your facial structure is round or square; wear your up-do high on the crown to elongate your face; if your face is thin and more rectangular; opt for homecoming hairstyles that are fuller on the sides and lack crown height. Depending upon your forehead height, you may wish to wear bangs. Girls that have longer foreheads need bangs; those with shorter foreheads may wish to wear their hair pulled completely back off the face.

Many girls find themselves thumbing through magazines and looking on web sites to find options for homecoming hairstyles. Some of the more popular web sites offer virtual styling; simply choose your facial structure, the length of your current hairstyle and click on different up-dos that fit. However, to ensure that a homecoming hairstyle is really right for you; you may want to visit the salon prior to the special event. There's nothing like a "trial run" to ensure you that the choice you made was for the best.

More important, choose homecoming hairstyle's that are comfortable and suitable for your personality. Due to the huge amount of changes occurring daily in a teenage girl's life; the added burden of an uncomfortable homecoming hairstyle isn't worth the pain and anguish. Sometimes simplicity is the best advice.

Wedding Hairstyles - How to Find the Perfect Style For You

Your wedding day is on the horizon and you are faced with the dilemma of sifting through many different wedding hairstyles to find the right one for you. Not only will you be overwhelmed with all the designs you will also need to decide if you want to have your hair up or down.

A wedding is one of the most important days of your life. A day you want to look your very best. There are so many things to consider when looking for wedding hairstyles. Will it compliment your dress, your eyes and your face? Will it become uncomfortable over the course of the day? Do you want to look totally different?

Nowadays hairstylist can create the impossible. They are able to design a huge array of wedding hairstyles and ideas. With the use of extensions, colour and accessories you really can be transformed.

Although you may want to stand out and look totally different on your wedding day it is wise to remember you are still you. Quite often brides have chosen wedding hairstyles that are totally different to how they would normally wear their hair. When looking back at their wedding pictures they have regretfully said that does not look like me.

When looking at wedding hairstyles try to think about the day itself. If the event is to be held outdoors it would be wise to look at wedding hairstyles that involve your hair being up. Therefore if it is windy or worse, you are unlucky enough to have rain, your hair will not be blown around and look unattractive in your wedding pictures.

Most hairdressers will offer you a trial whereby you can try out a variety of different hairstyles before the big day. They will also offer you some form of consultation to advise you of which wedding hairstyles will suit you. It is always a good idea to take a picture of your wedding dress to any trials you may have. Include any accessories such as veils, tiaras and hairpieces so the hairdresser can create you a style and incorporate these accessories.

Ask around for recommendations when looking for a suitable hairdresser for your big day. Better still use someone you have used before and can be open and honest with. Never go along with something you are not 100% sure about and always ask if there is any form of discount if the bridesmaids and mother of the bride are getting their hair done at the same time.

When choosing wedding hairstyles never think that a certain style will not suit you. Most wedding hairstyles will look totally different on you compared to a picture in a magazine so always trial out new hairstyles until you find the right one.

What You Need to Know When Choosing Your Bridal Hairstyle

When choosing your bridal hairdo, the most important consideration is to find one that will suit your facial features and preferably your wedding gown too.

HOW TO KNOW WHICH HAIRSTYLE TO CHOOSE?

A very easy way of getting ideas is to flip through bridal magazines or browse through bridal websites. Current bridal magazines will display the latest trends of bridal hairstyles and usually, they are modeled with certain wedding gowns. Take note of the types of hairstyles that usually go with the type of wedding gown you have chosen. For example, if you have a bustier gown, you can see what types of hairstyles are usually styled for that type of gown. You can also zoom in on the hairstyles that are suitable for your own hair length too. Cut out some of these pictures for reference if you like, as they may come in useful when you meet your stylist for a hairstyle consultation. A point to bear in mind though, some hairstyles look great on a magazine model but it may not be the best choice for you! Do keep your options open and seek professional advice from your bridal stylist before making a decision. They know best afterall, who else can we trust other than someone who does the same job everyday?

TYPES OF BRIDAL HAIRSTYLES

A very common hairstyle for brides is the up-do. This is suitable if you wish for a more elegant and formal look. A chignon, which is created by twisting hair into a bun and pinning it a the nape of the neck, is also a very pretty and classic choice. In recent years, many brides choose to wear their hair down. My cousin did that for her wedding day and we were really surprised to see her hair pinned simply with just a hair accessory, but she still looked lovely and natural with the hairstyle. If you have short hair, you will look great with some light curls that gives it some body. If you have long hair, soft perm your hair with natural curls for a versatile look.

Consider putting a hair accessory to accentuate the hairstyle. Fresh flowers looks perfect if you have an outdoor theme, while tiaras give a princessy feel. Crystal studded diamante hair accessories also adds some glitter effect especially if you are hosting an evening banquet.

PRE-WEDDING HAIR ADVICE

Trim your hair about one to two weeks before your wedding. Even if you are keeping it long, trimming will keep the ends tidy, and is easier to style. If you need to dye your hair and you are trying out a new colour, it is also advisable to do it in advance, never the day before! At least if it turns out disastrous, you still have some time to save yourself. On the day of your wedding, wear a button-up shirt so that you can change easily into your gown after your hair is styled.

Generally, your bridal hairdo should be one that compliments your facial shape, wedding gown, wedding theme and makeup. Every bride deserves to be the most beautiful on their BIG day and that goes for you too!

Wedding Hairstyles For Medium Length Hair

A woman's hair is often referred to as her "crowning glory". On no day will this be more true than your wedding day. If you have medium length hair, you will find that there are many hairstyles available to you. It is just a matter of picking the right one.

There are several things to consider when deciding on your wedding hairstyle. The first is the formality of your wedding. Just as a stiff updo might look out of place at a backyard barbeque, wearing your hair loose might seem underdone at a cathedral ceremony. It is important to match your hairstyle to both the formality of your bridal gown and your wedding location.

Another thing to keep in mind will be weather conditions. If your hair wilts in the heat, forgo the big loose curls that will fall flat before you even finish exchanging your vows. You may also find that on a hot day, it will be cooler to have your hair up off of your neck. Getting married on a windswept beach? Then pull the front of your hair back to keep it from blowing in your face.

The length of your hair will be another determining factor. Brides with medium length hair are lucky, because they can choose almost any style. It is long enough to pull up, yet short enough that it won't be unruly or messy looking when worn down.

One of the most popular wedding hairstyles for brides with medium length hair is the half up look. In this hairdo, the stylist will pull the front of the bride's hair back, and leave the rest flowing down. This look tends to work well for any formality of wedding. Having the hair shaped into a definitive style makes it polished enough for a more formal wedding, but having some of the hair left soft and flowing makes the half up style feel feminine and un-stuffy, as well. It is the best of both worlds.

One advantage of the half up style over leaving all of your hair down is that it makes it easy to anchor the bridal jewelry that you have chosen for your hair. You can wear a twinkling crystal tiara or headband for the most dressy look. If you prefer vintage styles, then a rhinestone comb would be perfect tucked into the side of your hair. You can also wear a comb on the top of your head with feminine details such as porcelain flowers for a romantic effect. Just be certain that the bridal jewelry you choose for your hair coordinates with the rest of your wedding jewelry.

Brides with medium length hair can certainly wear almost any type of updo for their wedding. An updo is often considered to be very formal, but it doesn't have to be. It can be simple and chic, like a classic chignon. It can also be more relaxed, such as a messy bun with little loose tendrils. There are a couple of good reasons to think about wearing your hair all up. One is that your hair will be under control and out of your face for the entire wedding. The other one is that wearing your hair up allows you to showcase a beautiful bridal necklace.

Whichever way you choose to wear your hair for your wedding, be certain to have a trial run. This will give you the chance to see how you like the style with your wedding gown. When your hair looks perfect, you know that you will feel beautiful on your wedding day.
